Today, cutting-edge research and practical applications in the field of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) increasingly depend on interdisciplinary integration, driving graduate education in universities toward fostering innovation capabilities and interdisciplinary competencies. Despite the limited resources of non-" Double First-Class" universities in talent cultivation and discipline development, they still bear the responsibility of cultivating high-quality innovative talent. This paper, based on the concept of interdisciplinary integration, explores innovative talent cultivation models in the field of Materials Science and Engineering at non-" Double First-Class" universities through various aspects, including curiculum design, joint training mechanisms, research platform development, and faculty guidance. Specific practices are discussed, along with improvement suggestions aimed at providing reference for enhancing the quality of graduate education at non-" Double First-Class" universities.
